Fitting in
When I first moved here ( around 2 years ago ) I was new to the school and didn't feel like I fit in for a long time. Around last year I made a few friends and my school life improved greatly. Before that, I just went through school and didn't really interact. After, I had a lot more fun when I had people to socialize with.
Neighborhood Treatment
When the children move to welch, they realize that the entire town is all about fighting and brawling. Jeanette and her siblings get into a lot of fights. One day a neighbor Ernie starts to fight with Jeannete and Brian. They throw rocks at them and called them trash. In reaction to this, the siblings fight back by making a catapult with a mattres and launching rocks. Their general reaction to the treatment they are reviving is to just fight back

Giving Up Connection l
So around 8th grade, I just kinda felt like not trying at school. For whatever reason, I felt no compelling reason to attempt anything. I didn't see that point. Eventually some of my teachers saw what was going on and consulted with me. They made me see the wrong in what I was doing, and corrected it. Same with my parents, they set me on the right path from where I was going. After that I realized the value in doing well at school and have kept that mentality ever since. It's made me a better student.
Welch Blog Post
Welch was at one point, a relatively busy and important mining town. That was before people left and the town became a dingy shell of its former self. Certain things make the town seem like it's given up or lost hope. Since there is really no plumbing, everyone just flushes their sewage into the river, which makes it one of the dirtiest rivers in the country. Many people have lost their jobs and almost all are living in poverty. It's truly a town that's gone downhill.

Memoir Connection
So last summer, I at first was extremely lazy. I didn't really want to do to much, and I just hung around and not much else. My parents wanted me to get outside and start jogging. Starting off, I didn't want to at all. Jogging just seemed like to much of an effort. Then I started jogging, and I felt better after a time. Getting outside and exercising turned out to be a great idea, and it's helped me stay healthy as a person since.
Jeanette's Family is unsupportive
Jeannettes family is very dysfunctional for several reasons. For one, her dad doesn't know when to stop when it comes to crossing the line. When they were driving across the desert, he started to speed up faster and faster. Jeannette encourages him, so he didn't stop driving fast. As a result of this, their car broke down and they had to leave it behind along with many of the belongings. Another example is how Rex has a drinking problem. His violent fits of drunkness always cause massive problems with the family. He breaks things and has no regard for where he is or who he's swinging at.
